A Digital Citizen can feel like a second-class citizen. Their actions are one step removed from reality, and yet they leave a footprint of ones and zeroes that can be tracked and traced. Digital technology offers emancipation and enslavement in the same breath, and can foster both passion and indifference in equal measure. This blog has been created to explore the intended and unintended consequences of the digital age, and the fusion of technology and politics. It also seeks to trace the silicon curtain that is descending around the world, against free expression, free association, civil liberties, and the ability to be an empowered digital citizen.
